 === Area covered ==

The area covered by the Evangelical Church of Bremen is essentially equivalent to the city of Bremen. However the United Protestant Community of the Smidt Gedächtniskirche in Bremerhaven belongs to the Bremen church. The remaining church parishes in the city of Bremerhaven, belongto the Evangelical-Lutheran State Church of Hanover, not Bremen because these areas were only combined with Bremerhaven in 1939 and this wasn't carried out in the church combination with Bremen. The borders of the church municipality in the village go over the state line into the area of the Lower Saxon district of Verden.
