Ashley and Matt played music together at high school, before being joined by Wally on bass [1]. Even played their first gig in 1994 at the Empress of India Hotel in Fitzroy and after a number of EP's, the band released their first studio album, "Less is More" in 1996. From 1996-2004, Even were signed to Rubber Records [2], home to other Melbourne bands such as The Casanovas, Offcuts and 1200 Techniques. They released their latest LP "Free Kicks" on an independent label and will follow up this record with their 5th studio album in 2006 [3]. Wally Meanie is also the bass player for local punk outfit The Meanies and has recently organised the "Stonage Cameos" tribute album to the Hoodoo Gurus [4]. Naylor has always been a fan of 1960's and 70's music [5], with the bands 1997 release "Come Again" being described by You Am I frontman Tim Rogers as his "favourite Beatles album" [6].
