The Exchange District is a National Historic Site in the downtown area of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is roughly twenty city blocks composed of approximately 150 heritage buildings. The district defines Winnipeg's role as a centre of grain and wholesale trade, finance and manufacturing. Buildings from two periods (1880-1900) and (1900 and 1913) show Winnipeg when it was the gateway to the west and later when it was the region's metropolis.
