Almost always made up of members of the Legislative Assembly of the province. The cabinet is similar in structure and role to the Cabinet of Canada while being smaller in size. As federal and provincial responsibilities differ there are a number of different portfolios between the federal and provincial governments.
The cabinet is selected by the Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunwswick on the advice of the Premier of New Brunswick. Most cabinet ministers are the head of a ministry, but this is not always the case.

Elizabeth (Betsy) Sheehan Garlatti was born and raised in NewBrunswick.
Council President Cook is also a co-founder of CLAY, the Community League for Active Youth as well as former member of the Board of Trustees for the Civic League of greater NewBrunswick.
Council Member Valenti was appointed to the NewBrunswick City Council in 1990 to fill an unexpired term and was subsequently reelected in 1990, 1994, and 1998.
