Exeter is a village located in Scott County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 70.

Geography

Exeter is located at 39°43'9" North, 90°29'46" West (39.719091, -90.496028)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.8 km² (0.7 mi²). 1.8 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 70 people, 27 households, and 17 families residing in the village. The population density is 39.2/km² (101.5/mi²). There are 32 housing units at an average density of 17.9/km² (46.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.57% White, 0.00% African American, 1.43% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 27 households out of which 29.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.4% are married couples living together, 14.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.0% are non-families. 25.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.59 and the average family size is 3.29.
