Now, shanghai has 6 city elevated road(include 2 ring road) and 18 expressways(including 2 ring expressways)

City elevated road

City elevated road is most in downtown of Shanghai, and most of them are elevated road. Distance between 2 exits of city elevated road is much shorter than expressways. The 6 city elevated road all is free, but some kind of cars or trucks is forbidden.People and bike are forbidden in elevated road,too.

Inner Ring Road

Most way of Inner Ring Road is elevated on Zhongshan Rd. The inner ring road is:Zhongshan Nan Yilu-Zhongshan Nan Erlu-Zhongshan Xi lu-Zhongshan Bei Lu-Ningguo Lu-Huangxing Lu-Yangpu Bridge-Luoshan Lu-Longyang Lu-Nan Pu Bridge-Zhongshan Nan Yi Lu. Only Luo Shan Rd. and Longyang Rd. isn't elevated road and allow people and bike. The length of Inner Ring Road is 48km, it is built at Dec,1994.

Middle Ring Road

Middle Ring Road is a city expressways that include tunnel,road,and elevated road.Now north part、most of west part has fininshed construction, while other are still in construction.

It is a free way too.

North part of Middle Ring Road is elevated road, while west part is design as city fast way in the ground.

City Expressways

Shanghai use a numberic system for expressways in Shanghai. It is "A" plus a number, From Yingbing Avenue(A1 road),at a clockwise direction, give a number to other expressways. For ring expressways, use 20,30,40 etc. For the expressways connect to other province, use the double name system of "A" Series and tradition name, and mainly tradition name, for example, "Huning Expressway(A11))

Another name is "Outter Ring Road".

A30 Road

Another name is "Suburb Ring Road". West part of A30 Road(A5 Road to Xinnong Interchange A6 Road) also is part of Shanghai Part of the national expressway G010(Tong San Expressway).

Another name "Yinbing Avenue",From A20 Longdong Avenue Interchange to Pudong Airport

A2 Road

Also called "Hulu Expressway",From A20 Longdong Avenue to Donghai Bridge

A3 Road

Plan Expressway Line 5.From A20 to Jiangsu Province Boundary.

A4 Road

Also called "Xinfengjin Expressway", From A20 Xinzhuang Interchange to Fengjing Interchange(Zhejiang Province Boundary)

A5 Road

Also called "Jiajin Expressway", From A4 Shanyang Interchange to Jiangsu Province Boundary which connect Yanjiang Expressways in Jiangsu. North part of A5 Road(Jiangsu Province Boundary to A30) also is part of Shanghai Part of the national expressway G010(Tong San Expressway).

A6 Road

Also called "Xinwei Expressway",From A30 Xinnong Interchange to Jinshanwei Toll Gate,also is part of Shanghai Part of the national expressway G010(Tong San Expressway).

A7 Road

Also called "Tingfeng Expressway",From Xingta Interchange to Xinnong Interchange.

Huhang Expressway(A8 Road)

Shanghai Part of Huhang Expressway is called A8, from Xinzhuang Interchange to Zhejiang Province Boundary. A8 Road also is Shanghai Part of Shanghai-Ruili Expressway(G065).

A9 Road

Shanghai part of Huqingping Expressway is called A9, from A20 Huqingping Interchange to Zhejiang Province Boundary. A9 Road also is Shanghai Part of Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway,connect with Husuzhewan Expressway of Jiangsu.

Huning Expressway(A11 Road)

Shanghai Part of Huning Expressway is called A11,from Zhenbei Rd. Interchange to Jiangsu Province Boundary. A11 road also is Shanghai Part of Hurong Expressway(G055) and Jinghu Expressway.

A12 Road

Another name is "Hujia Expressway",once called "Hujialiu Expressway", but now it's only from Zhenbei Rd. to A30 Road.

A13 Road

Another name is "Yanjiang Expressway(2nd Phase)", From A20 Road-Baoshan District-Chongming Island-Jiangsu Province Boundary

A14 Road

Another name is "Chongqi Expressway",Include Shanghai Yangtze River Tunnel and Shanghai Yangtze River Bridge. From A20 Road-Changxing Island-Chongming Island-Jiangsu Province Boundary. A14 Road also is Shanghai Part of Shanghai-Xi'an Expressway,connect with Ningqi Expressway of Jiangsu.
