2006 - a disappointing season After winning the title a year before, FC TVMK were left out of the contention the year after. During pre-season they lost several key players to other clubs, club top scorers Tarmo Neemelo and Ingemar Teever left for clubs playing in the Allsvenskan, Maksim Smirnov and Deniss Malov left for rivals FC Levadia. They did sign a few players, the most important one would have been the Latvian league proven goalscorer Viktors Dobrecovs and also Tarmo Neemelo came back on loan after a troubled start in Sweden, but lacked form the entire season. Vyacheslav Bulavin continued as the head coach, but was sacked in mid-season, with former Russian international Sergei Yuran taking over. The fortunes didn't change much though, and the highlights of the season were winning the Estonian Cup and Estonian Super Cup. They didn't have success in the UEFA Champions League either, going down in the first qualifying round against Icelandic champions FH Hafnarfjördur.
