Fables of the Green Forest (山ねずみロッキーチャック, Yamanezumi Rokki Chakku?), or Rocky Chuck the Mountain Rat, was a 52-episode animated television series based on a series of books published in the 1910s and 1920s by Thornton W. Burgess. Originally a Japanese cartoon first aired in 1973, it was created by animation studio Zuiyo Eizo. The show was later translated into German (Rocky und seine Freunde, Rocky and His Friends), French (Fables de la Foret Verte, Fables of the Green Forest), and English.
