Students

As of 2005, it has an enrollment of 1145, of which some 96% are from non-English speaking backgrounds [1]. It has an IEC (Intensive English Centre), and students include Assyrians, Arabs, Asians, Pacific Islanders, Africans, South Americans, Southeast Asians and New Zealanders. Fairfield high school is from years 7-12, the compulsory years are from years 7-9.


The students who attend Fairfield High School come from the area around the municipality of Fairfield, which has been a resettlement center for overseas migrant workers since the 1980s. [2]

Fairfield is a suburb in the City of Fairfield, in south-western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia, about 30 kilometres from the Sydney central business district.
A large portion of its residents are migrants and their descendants, notably from former Yugoslavia and more recently from Cambodia, Laos and especially Vietnam, the latter concentrated around the suburb of Cabramatta.
Fairfield is led by Fairfield City Council, with Nick Laich as Mayor, Joseph Tripodi as State MP, and Julia Irwin as Federal MP.
