Fairlawn is a Miami-Dade community located within the cities of Miami and West Miami, and areas of unincorporated Miami-Dade County. Its unofficial bounddaries are from NW 7 Street to SW 24 Street and from Florida Blvd. to SW 57 Avenue. Fairlawn is a rather large community with a school and library that share this name. This area also boasts a large White American population, now becoming uncommon in Miami-Dade. Without a doubt though, Fairlawn has a Latin flare quite its own.
Fairlawn is a pleasant, quiet community with Down South values, and life here is unlike any place else.
More information on Fairlawn, and its sister community, Flagami, can be found at www.miamidade.gov.

It is the county seat of Miami-Dade County (the most-populated county in Florida) and its largest city.
In 1894, however, Florida was struck by a terrible winter that destroyed virtually all of the citrus crop in the northern half of the state.
Because of where it is located in Florida, Miami is statistically one of the most likely places for a hurricane strike in the United States, although it did avoid much of the 2004 hurricane onslaught which impacted the rest of the state.
