Fairmount is a neighborhood in the North Philadelphia area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Fairmount originally lay in Penn Township, which was subsequently divided, putting the future neighborhood in the newly created Spring Garden District until 1854 when it was incorporated into the City of Philadelphia.
The population of Fairmount grew by 3% between the 1990 and 2000 censuses.
