For all religions the problem of proving the existence of the soul's body of light is always going to be a difficulty. Kosmon developed in the 1880s in the USA through the mediumship of a dentist John Newbrough. The earliest religion of homo sapiens is known as Shamanism, and its modern equivalent is the spiritualist movement. The function of a medium is to provide information from the spirit world to inspire the recipient and confirm the existence and practise of angelic communication. There are many well-attended spiritualist group meetings in Britain.
