A Kosmon associate in Scotland warns that the study of Oahspe, as is the study of all religions, presents the problem of claims which cannot be proven. For all religions the problem of proving the existence of the soul's body of light is always going to be a difficulty. Kosmon developed in the 1880s in the USA through the mediumship of a dentist John Newbrough. The earliest religion of homo sapiens is known as Shamanism, and its modern equivalent is the spiritualist movement. The function of a medium is to provide information from the spirit world to inspire the recipient and confirm the existence and practise of angelic communication. There are many well-attended spiritualist group meetings in Britain. Bearing in mind the problems of religious doctrine stated above, Oahspe, which is the main document to which Kosmon faithists refer, can be recommended as one of the most profound spiritualist documents ever recieved by a practising medium. John Ballou Newbrough (born in Springfield, Ohio, June 5, 1828; died in 1891), wrote several books of religious philosophy from the 1880s until his death, most notably Oahspe published in 1882. ...
