Encyclopedia > Fajardo

Fajardo is a small but popular city located on the north east coast of Puerto Rico.

Fajardo is popular among tourists, specially local tourists, because of its seafood, hotels, closeness to the small island named Isleta Marina, and the many daily trips that are available to Vieques and Culebra, both by boat and by the three airlines that serve small Fajardo Airport, Air Culebra, Isla Nena Air and Vieques Air Link.

Fajardo in the past was home to a BSN basketball team, the Cariduros De Fajardo. Edgar Leon and Georgie Torres were two of the best players to play for that franchise.

Fajardo is also the birthplace of multiple time world boxing champion John John Molina.
