"Faki soupa" is a Greek type of soup whose main ingredient is lentils. The preparation of the dish is quite simple, but the result is a very healthy and filling meal. Usual ingredients are onions, carrots, olive oil, parsley and possibly tomato sauce or vinegar. Greek families may just have a single plate of "fakes" -as the dish is simply called- usually for lunch, without bothering accompanying it with other side dishes or salads. However, it goes perfectly with some white cheese (eg. feta) and brown bread ("mavro").
