Falkensee - Wikipedia (824 words)
Falkensee heißt seit 1923 der Zusammenschluss der Gemeinden Seegefeld (erstmals 1265 urkundlich erwähnt) und Falkenhagen (erstmals 1336 urkundlich erwähnt).
Nach der Wende erlebte Falkensee einen regen Zuwachs der Bevölkerung, vor allem durch das Zuziehen von Berlinern aus dem ehemaligen Westteil, und verdoppelte in kurzer Zeit seine Einwohnerzahl.
Ein Teil der Züge aus Richtung Norden fuhr anstatt über der östlichen Berliner Außenring über den westlichen und dadurch auch über Falkensee nach Berlin und stellte damit ein dichtes Zugangebot sicher.
