SPRING MIGRATION OF SAW-WHET OWLS AT TORONTO, ONTARIO (3325 words)
These data from Fallingbrook are compared in figure 1 with the spring occurrence of saw-whet owls on Toronto Island, based on banding records of the Island Natural Science School, from 1964 to 1969 inclusive.
Fallingbrook, Toronto Island, and Ajax are all located on the north shore of Lake Ontario, and I suspect that the spring concentrations in these areas may be explained by an im- mediate need of food and rest after the more or less direct crossing of the lake from the south side.
Four of the 35 saw-whet owls banded at Fallingbrook were found holding de- capitated prey, which was in each case a passerine bird (1 hermit thrush, 2 winter wrens, i unidentified sparrow).
Fallingbrook Middle School - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (290 words)
Fallingbrook Middle School is a school located at 5187 Fallingbrook Drive in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
Fallingbrook Middle School has been named one of the top 40 schools in Canada according to Today's Parent Magazine for its program Exploratories (or Pathways), a unique concept where students can choose their classes.
Fallingbrook Middle School is also the first middle school to put up an electric sign board in different languages, so parents that speak another language can know what's going on.
