Farmand was a business magazine published in Oslo Norway from 1891 until it was discontinued in 1989. The Farmand magazine was a classic liberal and market liberal weekly newsmagazine much inspired by The Economist. Farmand enjoyed such prominent collumnists as Milton Friedman, F.A. Hayek, Ludvig von Mises and many others from the early Mont Pelerin Society. 1891 (MDCCCXCI) was a common year starting on Thursday (see link for calendar). ... 1989 (MCMLXXXIX) was a common year starting on Sunday of the Gregorian calendar. ... It has been suggested that The Economist editorial stance be merged into this article or section. ... The Mont Pelerin Society (MPS) is an international organization composed of economists, intellectuals, business leaders, and others who favour economic liberalism. ...


The editor was Trygve J.B. Hoff, one of the founding members of the Mt. Pelerin Society.


The Farmand magazine was relaunched in 2005 under the modern norwegian spelling Farmann.
