Farmington Township is a township located in Olmsted County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 516.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 92.7 km² (35.8 mi²). 92.7 km² (35.8 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

As of the census² of 2000, there are 516 people, 189 households, and 143 families residing in the township. The population density is 5.6/km² (14.4/mi²). There are 197 housing units at an average density of 2.1/km² (5.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 97.48% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.52% from two or more races. 0.39% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 189 households out of which 34.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.8% are married couples living together, 2.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.3% are non-families. 21.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.73 and the average family size is 3.19.
