One interesting aspect of Fawcett is its strangely timeless quality. Despite existing in the modern world, with current technologies and events, it seems old fashioned as if stuck in the 1940s or 1950s. It is a place where pies actually are left to cool on windowsills, children really do play "kick the can" and teachers really are brought apples by their students. The Wizard Shazam had Ibis the Invincible place a protective spell on the city, protecting it from the influences of outside evils and the passage of time in 1955. For the next forty years, the city existed as a time-warp of sorts to the 1950s. Only after the spell was removed in 1995 did Fawcett begin to slowly become a more modern city, although most of its Art Deco style buildings and generally old-fashioned values remain intact. // Events and trends World War II was a truly global conflict with many facets: immense human suffering, fierce indoctrination, and the use of new, extremely devastating weapons such as the atomic bomb. ...
