Holes cut in the soundboard for the set bolts (to a minimum diameter in Fazioli) are sealed (between the upper and lower faces of the soundboard) with glue to prevent relative humidity variations from encouraging the soundboard to split adjacent to the holes.
Fazioli sound boards feature the addition of a thin triangular-shaped veneer of spruce which is glued to the treble corner of the soundboard (on the under side using animal glue, with the grain direction at 90 degrees to that of the soundboard), to increase the stiffness of the soundboard.
Fazioli soundboard ribs are relatively tall, measuring around 26 mm in height at their mid point.
