Biography

The band was formed in late 1985, and consisted of Cobain on guitar and vocals, Dale Crover on bass, and Greg Hokanson on drums. After Hokanson left the band, Cobain and Crover went to Cobain's aunt's house in Seattle, Washington with a large book of lyrics and recorded Illiteracy Will Prevail, a 16-song demo of Cobain's songs, on a 4-track in December of 1985. Crover played bass and drums on the demo, while Cobain played guitar and sang. Fecal Matter disbanded in 1986 with Buzz Osborne on bass and Mike Dillard on drums. According to Michael Azerrad's Come as You Are: The Story of Nirvana, this occurred because Cobain thought Osborne did not take the band seriously enough, as Osborne refused to buy a bass guitar amplifier.[1] Year 1985 (MCMLXXXV) was a common year starting on Tuesday (link displays 1985 Gregorian calendar). ... After Fecal Matter

After Fecal Matter disbanded, Cobain began passing the demo tape around to friends and peers in hopes of starting a new band. Cobain was particularly proud of the tape. To him, the tape showed that he did have talent. Cobain had wanted to start a band with friend Krist Novoselic for some time. Cobain gave him a copy of the tape, hoping to finally persuade Novoselic to form a band with him. After hearing the tape (and particularly liking Spank Thru) Novoselic agreed to form a band with Cobain in mid-1986. That band would later be known as Nirvana. Krist Anthony Novoselic (born May 16, 1965) is a Croatian-American rock musician best known as the bassist for Nirvana. ... Spank Thru, according to Kurt Cobain, was the first ever Nirvana song. ... Recommended Guide for Removal of Fecal Matter from a Swimming Pool for Consideration by Pool Owners and Operators (598 words)
Close the pool whenever fecal matter is observed or suspected in the pool.
If the fecal matter in the pool is not formed, it may indicate the person responsible is ill. Question the person responsible, or their guardian.
If the fecal matter is formed, superchlorinate or shock the pool, or effected area of a large pool, to 10 parts per million (PPM) or greater and adjust the pH to between 7.2 and 7.5.
Chicago Area Paddling/Fishing Pages (1969 words)
Fecal coliforms are bacteria that originate in the intestinal tracts of all warm blooded organisms.
Interestingly, fecal coliforms can't be distinguished between humans and animals or between types of animals once they get into streams and rivers although the circumstances surrounding a particular site could provide hints as to their origin.
Fecal coliforms and the disease organisms they may be associated with aren't at all happy about being excreted into the world of sunshine because, fortunately for us, it's the beginning of the end for them.
