On January 1, 2007, Evenkia and Taymyria will be merged into Krasnoyarsk Krai. A referendum is to be held on April 16, 2006 on the merger of Irkutsk Oblast and Ust-Orda Buryatia. If the result is in favour, the merger will occur on 1 January 2008. On October 23, 2005, a referendum was held on the merger of Kamchatka Oblast and Koryakia to form Kamchatka Krai. The result was in favour; the merger will occur some time in 2007 (no official date has been set yet).
