The Feederz were formed in 1977 by Frank Discussion and Dan Clark, who was known as Clear Bob while in the group. Following a a scathing communique which led local media to believe they were a terrorist organization, the Feederz became immediately notorious even before they had ever played.

John Vivier later joined the group as their drummer and their first show ended with Frank Discussion shooting an AR-15 assault rifle filled with blanks into the audience causing a panic. During the early period the only released recording was a 4 song EP called Jesus.

In 1982 Frank Discussion distributed 5,000 copies of the paper "Bored With School" which thoroughly deprecated school, work and society to local high schools under the seal of the Arizona Department of Education. This led to his having to leave Arizona in order to escape arrest. After settling in San Francisco, he reformed the Feederz with Mark Roderick and Peligro, where they recorded "Ever Feel Like Killing Your Boss".
