In April 2005 the 7" vinyl of the song was released in a small edition of 300 copies on the same week the regulations for the UK Singles Chart were changed to include download sales, but only if there is also a physical equivalent sold. Thus, the song entered the charts at #22 weeks before the CD single went on sale, because it had been available for download starting March 22, 2005 at online music stores like iTMS. This had sparked some controversy over the effectiveness of the new chart, and whether there would be any "flaws" like this in the future. The song was also featured in an iPod commercial and later a portion of the song was featured in ads for the VH1 reality television show, Hogan Knows Best. 2005 : January - February - March - April - May - June - July - August - September - October - November - December- → Ongoing events • Iraqi legislative election • Bill C-38 (Canada gay marriage) • Tsunami relief • Cedar Revolution in Lebanon • Tulip Revolution in Kyrgyzstan • German Visa Affair 2005 • Expo 2005 in Nagoya, Japan • Terri Schiavo controversy • Pope John Paul II... Video

Like most of Gorillaz' visual work, the music video is quite surreal. It features 2D, Russel and a shirtless Murdoc playing the song in a towering brothel (the titular Inc.), which looms over a run-down dystopian landscape. Noodle, playing an acoustic guitar, flies outside on a small floating island (which is apparently kept aloft by a windmill).

This video was something of a departure from those previously done by Gorillaz. For one, the coloring was rather dark and layered, as opposed to flat and minimally-shaded as it had been in earlier videos. Moreover, the integration of CGI and two-dimensional animation was much more seamless than it had been previously. Sweeping "camera movements" and usage of the multiplane effect were also featured.
