 | Fisheries Ministry’s Ice Plant in Lhaviyani atoll Felivaru has been sold without interest to Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) with the payment to be completed within 10 years. |
| According to MIFCO Managing Director, Adhil Saleem, the 50 tonne ice plant in Felivaru was sold without additional interest for US$ 820,000 (Rf 10.4 million) and that ten percent was paid as advance payment. |
| After the ice plant in Felivaru, capable of producing 50 tonnes of block ice every day and a cold storage capable of storing 100 metric tonnes of ice was sold to MIFCO, the plant was officially opened by Fisheries Minister Abdullah Kamaaludheen. |
