Felix Laband is a South AfricanElectronic music artist who is fast making a name for himself in his indigenous land as well as on the international scene. Favouring the noir over the nice, his sound can be described as starkly dark, exploring the more sinister sides of life via minimalistsoundscapes. The samples that he makes use of often bear a uniquely South African flavour, fused with the Laband penchant for exploring the deepest chasms of the unconscious. His second album , 4/4 down the stairs, was released to widespread critical acclaim, and the singles, despite their unconventionality, managed to crack the commercial market as well.
