Félix Savart Biography | World of Physics (366 words)
With the French physicist, Jean Baptiste Biot, Savart demonstrated that the magnetic field produced by a current in a wire is inversely proportional to the distance from the wire.
Savart first studied medicine at the military hospital at Metz, receiving his medical degree from the University of Strasbourg in 1816.
Savart died in Paris at the age of 49.
