Fernando I (pron. IPA /fɨɾ.'nɐ̃.ðu/), ninth king of Portugal (Eng. Ferdinand I), sometimes referred to as the Handsome (Port. o Formoso) or rarely as the Inconstant (Port. o Inconstante), was born on October 31, 1345.
