Fernald Widdershins, in theory, is the brother of Fiona Widdershins of A Series of Unfortunate Events (The Grim Grotto). He is the hook-handed man in Count Olaf's troupe. It has been revealed, however, that Fernald's last name is not Widdershins. Fernald is Fiona's brother or stepbrother, but they do not have the same surname. Both Fernald and Fiona believe that people are not either good or bad, but a mixture, like a tossed salad.
