The Fiat Panorama was a small 2 door station wagon released in brazilian market in March of 1980. It was a 147 variant but its mechanicals were adapted for a heavier weight. The Panorama entered in the market of the small wagons for those customers who had a big family but couldn´t pay a lot for a big car. The current cars avaiable in that market was the VW Brasília, VW Variant, Ford Belina and Chevrolet Caravan. Some time later, they were the Chevrolet Marajó (end of 1980) and VW Parati (1982). Although the Panorama wasn´t a success, many units were sold, most with the 1.3L alcohol engine. The problem of all Fiat´s of the 70´s and 80´s was the poor gearbox. It was hard and unreliable. It´s design similar to a box was useful but not beatiful. The Panorama was phased out in 1986 for give its market to the Elba/Duna Weekend.
