Women field Hockey in India

Indian womens hockey has played a very important role in Asia, but it has failed to make presence in world cup and olympic games like it's male counterparts.


india has never qualified in an olympic games and in world cup, its best result was 4th position in year 1974 in the 1st womens world cup hockey held in France. From 1974 til 2002 India failed to qualify for the Women's World Cup. At the 2002 Women's World Cup, India places 12th and in 2006, India places 11th.
