Love will be looking to rebound from his shaky start, which left him tied for 47th place with several other players, seven shots back of Chris DiMarco, who was 4-under with four holes to go in his opening round.
Love made a nice par-save on the par-5 second hole to keep his round from completely falling apart after an errant drive landed in a creek that is well off the fairway.
Love made pars on the next two holes, still needing to make an 8-footer for his par at the par-4 fifth after the horn sounded to let players know they could finish the hole they were on prior to the suspension of play for the evening.
