Swastika - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (8392 words)
The Mannerheim cross with a swastika is the Finnish equivalent of the Victoria Cross, the Croix de guerre and the Medal of Honor.
The 45th Infantry Division of the United States Army used a yellow swastika on a red background as a unit symbol until the 1930s, when it was switched to a thunderbird.
It was adopted as a regimental insignia by the artillery units of the 21st and 22nd Infantry Divisions, as well as by the soldiers of the 4th Legions' Infantry, the 2nd and the 4th Podhale Rifles.
Finnish 6th Division (Winter War) at AllExperts (326 words)
The 6th Division (6.Divisioona) was a unit of the Finnish Army during the Winter War; its name was later changed to the 3rd Division (3.Divisioona).
During the mobilization prior to the Winter War, the 6th Division was placed in the reserve of the Commander-in-Chief Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim.
The division consisted of reservists mainly from Satakunta.
