Firearms is a multiplayer mod of the popular first-person shooter (FPS) game Half-Life created by Valve Software. Initially developed in 1998, Firearms was created as a quasi-realistic team-based FPS. The mod's main feature is the large amount of playable weapons in the game. There is some debate on the fairness of weapons but that is common to most FPS. Objectives can vary from capturing strong points to destroying objects but the main objective in all maps is to reduce the number of the opponent team's lives to zero. The loss of lives on a team can be stifled by the effort of the team itself and the direct and indirect actions of medics on the team. The current build is version 3.0 which was released on April 18, 2005. Firearms was also included in the Counter-Strike retail package. It was awarded PC Gamer's Mod of the Year award, and was at one time the #3 most popular mod based on the Half-life engine, after Counter-strike and Team Fortress Classic. "Resident Evil 4"/ a game review from Christian Spotlight (799 words)
In the larger portion of the game that i have experienced, i have seen countless heads exploding in balls of gore, my own character's head being sliced off with a chainsaw, a girl held onto a door by a pitchfork through the face, and enough blood to fill Lake Michigan.
This game does not attempt to shield the violence in any way shape or form and should not be played by those who are easily flustered.
The game itself is absolutely amazing, and the amount of fun and playing time (around 20 hours) you will recieve from this game in just the first time through is enough reason to recommend this game to anyone.
