Fireball Ministry is a stoner metal band. The group consists of James A. Rota (guitar/vocals), Emily Burton (guitar), John Oreshnick (drums), and Johny Chow (bass). Conceived in Cincinnati in the late 90's by Rota and Burton, the band moved to NYC before settling in Los Angeles. After several years appearing with various big name bands in the genre (Danzig, Anthrax, Motorhead, Slayer) but without a breakthrough in sales they have found their own sound and are fast gaining a wider following. The selection of the track "King" by the increasingly influential Bam Margera on his Viva La Bands compilation appears to have sealed the Ministry's asendancy to the big time. In addition, the track "The Broken" was included in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) video game WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006 for the Sony PlayStation 2, further expanding the band's audience. It’s been said that Fireball Ministry carries the torch for the future of rock n’ roll, and as Their Rock Is Not Our Rock proves, the L.A. purists continue to unrepentantly fan its flame with every thunderous power chord.
Fireball Ministry subsequently toured the States with Dio, Anthrax, Motorhead and Andrew W.K. (in addition to hometown gigs with Danzig, Slayer, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, The Datsuns, Lamb of God and others), while their European touring alongside Blue Oyster Cult, Uriah Heep and CKY converted many overseas believers.
Fireball Ministry is everything a rock n’ roll band should be: loud, proud, dirty, visceral and even a little bit dangerous.
