Fixedsys is a monospace Windows font (actually a series of .fon files for different codepages). The name means fixed system, although it is often pronounced "fixed size" because its glyphs are monospace or fixed-width. It is the oldest font in Windows, and was the system font in Windows 1.0 and 2.0. For Windows 3.x, the system font was changed to a sans-serif font named System (used in menu bars, for instance). However, many applications used MS Sans Serif (previously "Helv") for their windows and dialogs. The font has a novel method of distinguishing between zero and the capital letter "O". Instead of the usual subtle difference in shape between the two, or crossing a line through the zero, or placing a dot in its center, there are two barbs in the bowl of the character, pointing to each other. Since I installed my first Windows 3.0 I have been annoyed with the ugly fonts for the DOS-Box and the Fixedsys size 14.
With Dave Emmett's font editor 'Softy' I have made new fonts for the DOS-Box and a replacement for the Fixedsys fonts:
Their design is in contrast to the fonts shipped with Windows; their design leans more towards the typical VGA-BIOS fonts but I made a lot of modifications for a better visual effect.

The problem is if you use the FixedSys font for the edit window and your syntax highlighting options indicate bold words, the edit cursor does not show up where it is supposed to be.
I even tried downloading a TrueType FixedSys variant, but it doesn't come with a bold variety and UE doesnt bold it at all...
The problem is, that FixedSys is a bitmap font and not a TTF (true type font).
