The flag of the Autonomous Community of Madrid is a red field, standing for the color of the flag of Castile on which are centered seven five-pointed white stars aligned in two rows, four on the top and three underneath. The flag of the City of Madrid is a crimson (carmesí) field on which is centered the city's coat of arms which depict a bear standing against a Strawberry Tree (madroño), within a blue frame around which are distributed seven six-pointed white stars, all surmounted by a royal crown.
