Flagler Beach is a city in Flagler County, Florida, United States. The population was 4,954 at the 2000 census. As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 4,954 people, 2,535 households, and 1,493 families residing in the city. The population density was 519.8/km² (1,345.1/mi²). There were 3,224 housing units at an average density of 338.3/km² (875.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.86% White, 0.52% African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.57% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 0.67% from two or more races. There were 2,535 households out of which 12.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.6% were married couples living together, 6.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.1% were non-families. 33.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. Flagler Beach was also a city for the sting operation "To Catch A Predator". This was a very contraversal desicion in the city due to parents being worried about kids saftly with Predators being captured only a few blocks away from their homes.


Once the sting was completed, approximately 99% of the citizens were satisfied with the job well done by the Flagler Beach Police Department who have now started to get convictions for these arrests.
