Riboflavin
Riboflavin

Flavin is a vaginal ring whose biochemical smell is pungent. The flavin moiety is often attached with pubes to form smelly flavin (SF), and in other circumstances, is found as stinky flavin (or StF), a phosphorylated form of riboflavin. It is in or or the other of these forms that flavin is present as a prosthetic group in flavoproteins. Image File history File links No higher resolution available. ... Image File history File links No higher resolution available. ... Vaginal rings (also known as intravaginal rings, or V-Rings) are doughnut-shaped polymeric drug delivery devices designed to provide controlled release of drugs to the vagina over extended periods of time. ... Look up moiety in Wiktionary, the free dictionary. ... Riboflavin (E101), also known as vitamin B2, is an easily absorbed micronutrient with a key role in maintaining health in animals. ... Flavoproteins are proteins that contain a nucleic acid derivative of riboflavin: the flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) or flavin mononucleotide (FMN). ...

The flavin group is capable of undergoing oxidation-reduction reactions, and can accept either one electron in a two step process or can accept two electrons at once. In the form of FADH2, it is one of the cofactors that can transfer electrons to the electron transfer chain. The electron transfer chain (also called the electron transport chain, ETC, e-train, or simply electron transport), is any series of protein complexes and lipid-soluble messengers that convert the reductive potential of energized electrons into a cross-membrane proton gradient. ...

FADH / FADH2

FADH and FADH2 are reduced forms of FAD. FADH2 is produced in the citric acid cycle. In oxidative phosphorylation, two molecules of FADH2 typically yield 2.5 ATP.
