Flavio is the name of a character in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (GameCube). He is a ship merchant who is found on the first floor of the Rogueport Inn. During the first four chapters, Flavio does nothing but sing a song, which is reprinted here:

In the fifth chapter, he will offer his boat for use on a quest to Keelhaul Key. When the ship gets wrecked, he appoints himself leader of the shipwrecked crew. During this time, he elects Mario to go on all of the errands, most of which involve repeatedly trudging through the monster-inhabited island. When you have finally rescued Admiral Bobbery, he is pressured by the former crew of his ship, the S.S. Flavion, to follow you on your quest, if only for a short while. When you reach a dead end, he will stand in one spot and sing his song, which helps you figure out the puzzle. He does not accompany you into the dungeon and is not seen until after the end of the chapter. He then negotiates for help from the pirate king Cortez ( "...don't make me have Mario trounce you again" ). After Mario and the crew arrive back in Rogueport, he is found on the first floor of the Rogueport Inn, bemoaning the fact that he is now the SECOND richest man in Rogueport. For over 20 years, Mario has been the official video game mascot for Nintendo. ...

Flavio published three encyclopedic works that were systematic and documented guides to the ruins and topography of ancient Rome, for which he has been called one of the first archaeologists; subsequent antiquaries and historians built on the foundations laid down by Flavio and by his older contemporary, Poggio Bracciolini.

Flavio once sighted a pirate ship heading towards his boat, but when the pirates saw the hull was far out of the water because of the lightness of the ship, they sailed away.
Flavio Portenicci Dinochi Francisco returned to his home a happy man. He was able to pay off his dues, and he lived a prosperous life from then on, cautious with whom he dealt with.
