The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRCongo) is the scene of a complex and devastating war involving seven nations and the Kinshasa regime as well as several insurgent movements.
The goal of AAH in the DRCongo is to assist the most vulnerable groups affected by the war: those living in the major urban slums and close to the frontlines.
FHI has been active in the DRCongo since June 1997, working to improve the capacity and willingness of local leaders, churches, families and organizations to solve the problems of their communities, and to increase the overall food security in eastern Congo.
