TMBG has always been a great reason for math and computer science majors to add a real rock album to their collection of John Williams and Weird Al records--and Flood is a bacchanalian celebration of dorkiness.
Lifting off from their previous album, Lincoln, which was a sort of transitional hit-or-miss, Flood is a soaring, catchy sing-along album destined for people who love quoting Monty Python sketches.
But every song on FLOOD is catchy and hard to forget, yes it's true, but that's a GOOD thing.
Flood (941 words)
A flood (in Old English flod, a word common to Teutonic languages; compare German Flut, Dutch vloed from the same root as is seen in flow, float) is an overflow of water, an expanse of water submerging land, a deluge.
The control of annual flooding, by dikes and by dams, also prevents the deposition of silt on the rich farmlands and can result in their eventual depletion.
London, England is protected from flooding by a huge mechnical barrier across the River Thames, which is raised when the water level reaches a certain point (see Thames Barrier).
