The Florida Senate election of 2006 will be held on November 7, 2006. Whoever is elected will serve between January 3, 2007 and January 3, 2013. The incumbent Democratic Senator, Bill Nelson, is running for reelection to a second term. His main opponent at this point is two-term Florida Congresswoman and former Secretary of State Katherine Harris. Most polls clearly indicate wider support for Nelson, a moderate Democrat who is very popular with Florida's conservative electorate.
