Rodolfo Enrique Fogwill was born in Buenos Aires in 1941. He is sociologist, he was titular professor of the University of Buenos Aires, publisher of a legendary poetry book collection, ensayista and columnista specialized in communication subjects, Literature and cultural policy. The story "Girl punk", that received the first prize in an important literary contest in 1980, made it leave its race industralist and begin, according to its words, "a plot of malentendidos and misfortunes" that took it "office" to their present of writer. W. Irving Fogwill: Newfoundland and Labrador Heritage (886 words)
Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Irving Fogwill was a writer, labour leader and a leading voice for the confederates in the debate over the Newfoundland union with Canada.
Fogwill went to work with the railway at the age of fourteen, eventually became involved with the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks and helped found the organization now known as the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Labour.
Irving Fogwill is undoubtedly one of the most surprising and thoughtful writers to have worked in Newfoundland in the 20th century and deserves to be better known.
