In 2005, Bung Moktar Radin, BN MP for Kinabatangan uttered "Fuck" in parliament. After Bung apologized at the request of the Spaker of the house, Fong along with fellow DAP MPs, Kerk Kim Hock and Tan Kok Wai left the house. Bung proclaimed that they were rude and a shouting match arose until Fong Po Kuan raised a point of order resulting in the Speaker adjourning the house ten minutes early.
