Alternatively called Fontenelle's Post, Sarpy's Point, Point aux Poules, Point of the Pulls, Pull Point, Nebraska Post Office, Council Bluffs Post Office, and Traders Point, the Post was located down the Missouri River from Council Point, located in present-day Council Bluffs, Iowa. Named after the great Omaha chief Lucien Fontenelle, Fontenelle's Post absorbed the operations of Cabanne's Trading Post in 1836. The Missouri River is a tributary of the Mississippi River in the United States. ...
