Model 'B' Ford Engine (757 words)
The 1932 V-8 was introduced as the 'Ford Model 18.' The four cylinder model was designated the 'Model B.' Although the V-8 was a national sensation and sold very well, there were many four cylinder Model B's produced.
The Model 'B' mains were 2" diameter; mains in the 'A' were 1-5/8".
The Model B block was a modified Model A block.
Model B Ford Zenith Carburetor Data (485 words)
This series was started by the carburetor originally provided to Ford for the Model B, and went on to include several other similar carbs with balance tubes, vacuum economisers, accelerator pumps, and other improvements, and were found on many OEM industrial and agricultural applications throughout the 1930s.
The standard Model B float valve is marked "44" and was for use with a fuel pump, while the valve for aftermarket Model A (Model B style carb) was marked "54" for use with gravity feed.
The Model B stlye Zenith was a 124-1/2 series carb, and the Model B version used a number 22 venturi.
