History
FPR was established in 2003 after the Prodrive group purchased Glenn Seton Racing. Glenn Seton's small single-car operation was transformed into one of the championship's biggest teams. In it's opening season, FPR raced three Falcons, driven by Craig Lowndes, Glenn Seton and David Besnard. 2003 was highlighted by a win at Phillip Island to Lowndes, and a second-placing at the Bathurst 1000 to the Lowndes/Seton combo. In 2004, the team downsized to two cars driven by Lowndes and Seton. After a disappointing season with mechanical failures and lean results, both Lowndes and Seton left the team at the end of the year. They were replaced by Jason Bright and Greg Ritter for the 2005 season. After a radical restructuring, FPR gradually reversed its form, and by the year's end, Bright in particular was looking like challenging the leaders for speed. 2006 saw Mark Winterbottom take the wheel of the #5 Falcon, taking over from Ritter, while Bright remained in the #6 car. Apart from a disappointing opening round at Adelaide's Clipsal 500, the team has performed brilliantly throughout the year. Bright has scored three pole positions (and qualified 2nd for Bathurst), and two race wins. Together, Bright and Winterbottom won the Sandown 500, and led the Bathurst 1000 early before a mechanical failure. Winterbottom currently sits 3rd in the standings thanks to a very consistent run, and Bright is 7th. The FPR team currently sits third in the team's standings.
