Fordsons F.C. was an Irish football club who played in the Football League of Ireland. The club was established in the 1920s in Cork city with strong links with Ford Motor Company (a major employer in the city at that time). The team was based initially in the Marina area of Cork, playing what in what is now the Munster Showgrounds. The club was admitted to the Football League of Ireland in 1924. The club went through a number of name changes Cork F.C. from 1931 to 1938, Cork City F.C. from 1938 to 1939, Cork United F.C. from 1939 to 1948, and finally Cork Athletic F.C. from 1948 to 1957. During its existence in the league (under its various guises) the club was the most successful league club (in terms of trophies won) to come from Cork city. The club left the league, and ceased operations in 1957. Football (soccer) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia /**/ @import /skins-1. ...
