Foriegn Objects was a Math-rock/Metal band formed by Deron Miller and Jess Margera of the popular rock band, CKY. They released a 5 track EP in 1995 entitled "The Undiscovered Numbers an Colours" and performed a few shows. The band was constantly changing their Bassist lineup, and because of this they decieded that they had to move on and start a new band. They renamed themselves Oil. The band had recorded a whole lot of extra material, and released a new album in 2004, named "Universal Culture Shock", which also came with a digitally remastered version of their 1995 EP, and a live recording of one of their shows.
Most complications of swallowed foreign bodies occur in the esophagus at one of three points: the thoracic inlet at collarbone level (70%); the mid-esophagus (15%); and the sphincter at the lower end of the esophagus where the esophagus joins the stomach (15%).
Treatment of any health problem related to a foreign body may include a psychiatric consultation if the doctor suspects that the swallowing or insertion of the foreign body is related to autism or mental retardation (in small children) or an eating or personality disorder (in adolescents).
Ingestion or insertion of foreign bodies in older children and adolescents is a matter of greater concern to parents, however, because it is much more likely to be intentional, to reflect the presence of an eating disorder or other psychiatric problem, to be a repeated behavior, and to result in serious bodily harm.
Urgent intervention is also required to prevent aspiration when an ingested foreignobject or food bolus impaction creates a high-grade obstruction and the patient is unable to manage his or her secretions.
Objects that cannot be easily grasped in the esophagus may be advanced into the stomach, if endoscopic visualization is afforded, where they may be more easily grasped.
Nonendoscopic removal of blunt radiopaque esophageal foreignobjects with a Foley catheter under fluoroscopic guidance has been reported to be successful with a low complication rate, but provides no control of the object as it is being removed, provides no airway protection, and does not allow for assessment of underlying esophageal pathology.
